Five Guy Named Moe :: five guys named moe

What are the 217 inhabitants of Waba (Canada) doing right now?
They are certainly crossing the main street wearing a red down jacket, hairy snow boots, and caps on their heads.
And what do the Five Named Moe do?
Well, tired of crossing the main street to work at the local paper mill, they flew to far away Scotland to offer us this disc with a discreet charm.
We knew the Canadians were fine music lovers and a little bit cool babas (what a bad language, I swear ...) but here ! A record so sensitive, so delicate, in short so intelligent, one remains baba (uh...yes!)
its main quality? it is the simplicity, limpid compositions with a small guitar here, a finger of piano there, and then, how not to fall in love with the aerial voice of Meg Lunney, who signs in company of Jonathan Evans, the titles of this album. So, of course it is not "THE" record of the century, it does not have the pretension of it and it is so much better because anyway who still cares about "THE" record of the century...

Les Rita Mitsouko :: RE

RE

First and foremost, the title :: "RE"
No! This is not a misleading advertisement. Released in mid-October "RE" is not the new Rita, well yes it is ! Finally no it is not ! Come on, come on, let's explain ... The idea was in the air since a famous "RE" dating back to the mists of time (ie, two or three years ago).
"This is not a compilation" proclaims the duo and they are right the RitaRE Mixoukés, this record is not a compilation, but a real RE-construction of more or less recent tracks.
11 tracks (including 2 Andy) RElyophilized, REdissected, REcomputer-sequenced RE-RE-RE-hi-energized (hey-hey) by the top brass of REmix and let's mention in passing the excellent performance of the French Dee Nasty in the company of Fat-Freddy for a "jealousy" to die for.
Of course, one can wonder why such piece more than another, but, you see, in the kingdom of subjectivity ...
So let's wait for the next delivery of Mitsouko, so that this record can't be a "neo-best of" and ... the little train goes to the mountains ... it will stop at the Cigale, from December 5th.First and foremost, the title :: "RE"

Brian Eno / John Cale :: wrong way up

Quelle chance !

wrong way up (expanded version / opal-we (1990)

What an opportunity! Inaugurate this new press column on the tune of the big date, at the dawn of the 90s. Judge for yourself. Sir John Cale, just coming out of the posthumous tribute to Andy Warhol, with Lou Reed for a very velvetian "Songs for Drella"; Brian Eno, for his part, only talking about himself under the line "produced by" or even at the origin of a work for goose down pillows and some very underground videos. A real modern dandy's record where we walk somewhere between a bee bop a lula techno (crime in the desert) and these soft pop melodies that will insidiously accompany you during the next ten years without ever going out of fashion with your friends (Cordoba), but, you may ask, what is revolutionary in all this? The novelty is that Mr Eno has finally decided to sing again, think about it, it's been 13 years, 13 long years since his "Before and after science", that's a sign, isn't it?
