EIDON // why not ?

" A new phase of my production : New ideas, new tools, and more self-confidence. Also a wider ability to express myself. " ... WHY NOT?

🔵 Eidon

A new phase of my production : New ideas, new tools, and more self-confidence. Also a wider ability to express myself. " ... Eidon (Veda) is a pragmatic musician, self-critical yet self-sufficient, and we can take self-pleasure in it ourselves. WHY NOT? The new album should no longer be merely promised for the exclusive satisfaction of a handful of enlightened aficionados, the injustice of such a situation would be far too poignant.

Eidon Veda is a sharer, expansive in nature, for he hesitates not to "produce as soon as it's created, distribute immediately" his entire body of work - as evidenced by the recent online releases of six new compositions, just 15 days after the official release of WHY NOT? From this, there is now no doubt that we can hold a significant or necessary place in a fervent creative process. We "self" delight in it, spoiled children that we are.

A nocturnal homage, free and lively, to a renowned sonic bistro, "Night At The Penguin Café" is savored like your favorite treat. Charming, devilishly addictive, "Piccolo Cuero" plants a delightful smile of satisfied nostalgia in the hollow of our ear. "Why Not?" is engaging, wavering, evidently causing contemplation. "Folia" may wander, a scholarly reflight, a fluttering leaf. "Agitato" intrudes as much in the nervous system as in audio, contraction, while "Pendulum" responds with fragmented arguments, a punctilious chronograph.

A vexed classical fracture (Bodegón), semi-prepared piano, the convulsive disfraction sharpens before choking exsanguinated. "Cithara" is visual, "Dew" a frantic race, an impasse and a pronounced silence? "Sovrapposizioni" (superimpositions) suddenly emerges as a prominent turning point, which will frustrate any aspirations of standardization, we expected it just a tad. "Fuinn nan Òram (Òramody for Dr. Daphne)" takes the freestyle route, somewhat less expected.

Referenced, "The Lady Of Lethe..." is best appreciated in the light of a reading of Virgil's "Aeneid," with the thoughtful inclusion of Latin, Italian, and English translations, a delicate touch by Monsieur Veda.

"Hypnotica" might arbitrarily break the hypnotic spell, but the modernist intent of the arrangement doesn't quite manage it, greedily swallowed by the veiled wheel's spin, remarkable efficiency. Eidon Veda concedes, somewhere, to the desire for intimacy, "Umi 海" answers that wish, which is also ours.
"Ono-Okko" tubular harmonies for a powerful generative bassoon. "Plagio n°4" grants us a respite, as we willingly gaze at the moon with the seamstress, for the curious to comprehend. Sustained cut-up, "Folia 2" derives from an adjustment of the previous swirling leaf, gently alighting at a café terrace frequented by the late Simon Jeffes, deserving of a clever reorchestration. An album filled with abundant opportunities, WHY NOT? is as exhilarating as its author's prodigious generosity.
