Pour une autre minorité, ce sont aussi et surtout une collaboration avec Carl Craig (NIGHT MUSIC) en 2009 et quelques 8 REGARDS OBLIQUES en 2018, un banquet où étaient conviés Sun Ra, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, Coltrane ... On a déjà vu pires convives.
Chronique d'un temps choisi, DU CORTEX À L'IRIS annonce ainsi le retour d'un musicien fainéant ( 8 années ) et l'envie enfin de disparaitre définitivement pour d'autres.

For most of us, Etienne Jaumet is first and foremost that saxophonist, keyboardist and sound engineer who once moved on from Zombie Zombie or, in a more documented and almost homeric lineage, from The Married Monk.
For another minority, he is also — and perhaps above all — the man behind a collaboration with Carl Craig (NIGHT MUSIC) in 2009 and the eight REGARDS OBLIQUES released in 2018, a banquet to which Sun Ra, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, Coltrane… were invited. One has certainly seen worse guests.
A chronicle of a deliberately chosen time, DU CORTEX À L’IRIS thus announces the return of a lazy musician (eight years) and, for others, perhaps the long-awaited wish to finally disappear altogether.
Seductive or seducer — gradually intentional — such might be the point.
