Posons-donc, immédiatement, la question : AGAIN est-il un bon album ?
S'il ne tient évidemment qu'à vous de le dire, les choix de Daniel Lopatin sont eux sans équivoque, défiants toute autre possible (auto) trahison autobiographique et nous pourrions aisémment ironiser sur la vacuité imbécile de la baudruche promotionnelle, annonçant la sortie "événement" de ce dixième opus, tel est pris qui croyait prendre.
Intro ou rétro-spectif, AGAIN s'accorde autour d'un regard subjectif sur un passé (simple) d'amateur de musique arrivé au point de convergence de ses goûts d'hier et de ses propres aspirations, une rencontre fondatrice, un socle. Pragmatique et sans l'obligatoire nauséeuse nostalgie, en pareille situation, Lopatin s'offre une présente réalité et accessoirement un postulat pour le futur, accompagné des preuves vivantes de sa bonne étoile en sa jeunesse sonique, Lee Ranaldo et Jim O'Rourke, en attestent de leur collaboration sur l'album.
Leçon sur la nécessaire anti falsification de nos rêves, de notre histoire, AGAIN est positivement un retour en grâce pour Oneohtrix Point Never.

Pragmatic and without the nauseating nostalgia, in such a situation, Lopatin offers himself a present reality and, incidentally, a postulate for the future, accompanied by the living proof of his sonic youth's lucky star, Lee Ranaldo and Jim O'Rourke, attesting through their collaboration on the album.
