BIMURTA // all skies lead to the sun EP

 ALBUM DU MOIS
⚫️ BIMURTA / more in nocoVision ...

" Etiyau Ketiaba jetia bhoi khau ..."

 ALBUM OF THE MONTH

An iron dawn over the distant Brahmaputra — let us forget the greyness of the fjords or the worn sidewalks of Chicago. (Mutant) Post-Metal travels toward a new center of gravity, where one might not have expected it so immediately as within the intense atmosphere and sharp contours of Assam. With this debut EP, ALL SKIES LEAD TO THE SUN, India’s Bimurta no longer merely navigate on a genre; they transfigure it through total geographic hybridization.

A singularly forward-looking wager — Bimurta, whose name means incorporeal or formless in Assamese, accomplish a true tour de force : injecting an organic and spiritual emulsion into the smoking carcass of a genre on the brink of conceptual (and iconographic) implosion — Phoenix?

A line drawn from the moment the lid is lifted with the ascent of a “Baba Hargila” (greater adjutant stork), a scavenger of (very) ill omen to some, sentinel of Mother Nature to most — and for us, lovers of hybrid sensations, a more than vibrant collision.

"The Immortal" effectively asserts itself as an emblematic figure, blending Roktim Bhattacharjya’s ethereal guitar chords with the forceful pressure of a background—with a special mention for Abhinob Saikia’s flute—that suffers from no affected resignation. Bimurta holds the reins of ghostly chimeras at a firm distance.

Etiyau Ketiaba jetia bhoi khau … — a parenthesis of intimate sensitivity ( Said/Unsaid ), once again the distinctive mark of evasion and the delicacy of our vulnerabilities. A turn? That of further hybridization and the entrance of a new influence that Mr. Smith would hardly disown ( Rodalisnan ). A becoming emphasis.

Finally, since the heavens (sometimes) lead to the summit, " Pale Blue Drought " stifles all reservations, including critical ones. Saptarshi Das (production), Abhinob and Roktim excel in a total fusion—an incandescence and a sententious message addressed to forgetful overlords: 'On the other bank of this river lies the limit of patience.' Let it be taken as heard and fully approved!
