Metamorphosis: a vast subject. Exploring the state that follows it is another, equally compelling. EXUVIE, in other words, leaving behind that skin (from the Latin exuviae) abandoned after the fact.
May our three companions — past, present, and future — continue to free themselves from it, or overlap within it indefinitely.
With EXUVIE, Noémi Büchi examines the fragile condition left by the transformation of bodies — her own — and of things. Her third album dwells on slow rhythms, on memory inscribed beneath the surface, a space where thought has already moved on but sensation lingers.
Inspired by Francis Bacon and his dislocated bodies, Büchi unfolds a soundworld built from layered references — some explicit, some suggested — from electroacoustic textures to orchestral colors, traversed by echoes of video games, anime, and hip-hop. Unstable and mutating, EXUVIE keeps its promise to the imaginable, opening a space where transformation persists and resonates.
