⚫️ FOMO - 2023
Avec JOMO, Marco Simioni choisit le contre-pied cohérent, le radicalisme élégant, né selon l'aveu chuchoté à notre oreille par son auteur : "a remix album that started as a sort of joke and then grew up to become serious ...".
Oui !

A saturated soundscape - Saturated with that recurring immediacy - shine or die - Choose slowness! Choose the hollow, the elliptical and the (refounding) absence - Choose the place where noise finally stops.
Audacious? Yes, there is something audacious about building an album around the precise point where the silence of tomorrow finally settles in. With JOMO, Marco Simioni chooses the coherent counterpoint, the elegant radicalism, born — as its author whispered in our ear — "a remix album that started as a sort of joke and then grew up to become serious..."
Three years earlier, FOMO laid the groundwork for this present work. A lucid diagnosis of an era of sensory overload, an anxious cognitive universe caught in the grip of the tyrannical digital prism.
JOMO is therefore not that predictable headlong flight forward, but a possible alternative: inversion, the about-face. The pleasure of not being where you are expected to stand waiting - the joy of missing out.
Yes! JOMO is indeed that album of notable trend inversion. It is also, and above all, a perspective in which it is good to know how to surround yourself with a few talented close friends in order to literally reinvent a landscape or a future, who knows.
JOMO is this set of 23 new versions of FOMO's original tracklist, and this is no longer, concretely speaking, a classic remix album. To broaden - not to say infinitely stretch - a horizon that has become utterly boundless, phenomenal. Nearly 2 captivating hours in the company of Recue (always a pleasure to cross paths again with Monsieur Annala), Ibrahim Alfa Jnr, Broken Haze, or a few of Marco's close friends : TOLUCA LK, Delta Division, Air Protection Office - before we apologise for failing to mention Racerboy, Bromic, Sukkube or Yassud...
Rhizomatic, JOMO is therefore not a catalogue album of demonstrative variations. It is a community portrait, an affective cartography of the ties that structure and build a musician's musical universe. A sincere conversation between friends, about what music can become when it finally frees itself from its constraints - We simply dream of it.
