Permeability and tribal, industrial paradigm, the dance of mutating concepts, subservient fluidity, sinuous capillarity, deliberate fusion, total hybridization, the grandiose Hubaut-esque Mixage, Jajouka's historical flutes, Martin Meissonnier's talents, or Rachid Taha's genius, a distant Muslimgauze, the Arabstazy collective, the sirens of On U Sound, Crammed Records, AnnaBouboula, the opportunistic and combinatory William Orbit, Talvin Singh (in a distant, sanitized resonance), Nadjma and Amina Annabi, lastly, just for the joy of mentioning them... An impromptu list far from exhaustive, as infinite and elusive as a stretched, undulating, and piercing horizon. Frenzy of celestial or more intimate dialogues, a possible memorial and residual sigh for DAWLAT LĪBIYYA.
Authored by Abu Ama & BedouinDrone, who have collaborated on multiple occasions and have been longtime friends of Mahorka, DAWLAT LĪBIYYA is also a major event for the venerable net.label as it marks its very first vinyl release. Perceiving a 360-degree conceptual and fusion-oriented intention is an undeniable certainty, which you probably already knew. Always opening or invigorating closed circles.
Attempting to classify DAWLAT LĪBIYYA quickly is to take a significant risk, the regrettable oversight that appearances can be simply deceptive. A mischievous pitfall, "Sabah" is an oriental mirage, the perfect harmonic oasis for a connoisseur of peremptory shortcuts. This album is as cunning as it is not easily tamed, and "Eski Türk Kaseti" is the immediate and irrefutable proof, a techno lineage reminiscent of the most beautiful moments of a hallucinated T++, among many others.
Empirical sub-basses, tormented drone, "Idris" is a convulsive ritual, monstrously carnal.
Industrial Ethno Dub, nourished by an echo transformed by the eponymous Libyan city, "Leptis Magna" methodically grinds all our senses before envisioning the flight of a melody so graceful that the contrast is bold - Masterful!
Gentle respite? A momentary illusion of indulgence?
Incantatory, "Umm Al-Maa" operates in simple fractions, are these scholars a finality or ...
A magnetic finale, only for the online version ( hey hey ...) from which you will not emerge unscathed, "Assaraya al Hamra" torments the exteriority, like so many openings for potential sharing - A pure masterpiece !
