C’est sans doute là que réside la réussite majeure de HERMETIC. Non dans la fusion complète de deux sensibilités artistiques, mais dans la préservation d’une tension constante entre elles. Toni Dimitrov et Blanket Swimming ne cherchent jamais à restreindre la distance qui les sépare ; ils la cultivent au contraire comme une force générative. Entre résistance autonome et absorption, deux univers respectifs qui demeurent identifiables tout en participant à une entité nouvelle.
HERMETIC est un album de seuils et de passages, un espace où les matières se rencontrent sans perdre totalement leur singularité. Une "conjugaison" au sens le plus riche du terme : ni simple juxtaposition, ni fusion définitive, mais coexistence active de forces qui, précisément parce qu’elles conservent leur part d’altérité, continuent de produire du mouvement.

By exploring the multiple synonyms of the word "conjugaison" in the language of the baguette and the beret, we can easily count about 14 of them. From the copulatory "fertilization" to "combination" or a simple "junction," the lexical spectrum indicates a more or less relative measure of proximity. The advantage of having 14 possibilities is being able to appreciate this measure of "distance" as accurately as possible—a word which, between you and me, has around forty synonyms.
Without wanting to prolong the exercise indefinitely, a resulting possibility nevertheless remains: HERMETIC hinges on the growing (or shrinking) proportion of what is, in the end, a rather fragile emulsion.
Toni Dimitrov scans a certain naturalism, while Thea Maloney (Blanket Swimming) structures a soundscape of complex layers. Thus, we might now consider the task easy, but it is nothing of the sort because, as we have said, it is all a matter of distance and conjugation in unstable equilibrium.
While the title track "Hermetic" still allows for a certain visibility of the materials and textures involved, it is equally certain that "Chariot" is no longer concerned with our initial premise at all.
This is undoubtedly where the major achievement of HERMETIC lies. Not in the complete fusion of two artistic sensibilities, but in the preservation of a constant tension between them. Toni Dimitrov and Blanket Swimming never seek to narrow the distance that separates them; on the contrary, they cultivate it as a generative force. Between autonomous resistance and absorption, their two respective worlds remain identifiable while contributing to a new entity.
HERMETIC is an album of thresholds and passages, a space where materials meet without completely losing their singularity. A "conjugation" in the richest sense of the term: neither simple juxtaposition nor definitive fusion, but an active coexistence of forces which, precisely because they retain their share of alterity, continue to generate movement.
