COLLECTED NOT LOST n’est pas un simple concept rétrospectif.
Une opération de sauvetage ? Non ! Un geste d’archivage pro-actif où Autonomaton exhume dix années de fragments sonores. De 2015 à 2025, Nikolay Stanchev a disséminé tous azimuts ! Contributions, remixes, versions et reconstructions sur une constellation de labels internationaux.
Après DRONE AND TEKNOIZ, premier volume qui en posait les fondations tectoniques, AMBIENT AND MELODY poursuit la démarche en déplaçant progressivement le centre de gravité. La matière abrasive se dilue, les drones s’étirent, les textures se mettent en suspension et laissent apparaître une dimension mélodique savamment plus affirmée.
Dubbing et overdubbing, hardware et software, programmation et intervention live se mêlent dans un travail par strates. L’effacement partiel et la superposition font émerger des états transitoires. Rien ici d’une reconstitution chronologique : les fragments de cette décennie sont réassemblés selon une trajectoire esthétique.
Avec AMBIENT AND MELODY, Autonomaton entre ainsi dans une zone plus flottante. Ce deuxième chapitre constitue le mouvement central de COLLECTED NOT LOST : après le bruit et avant le mouvement rythmique du dub breakz, une musique de suspension, de profondeur et de rémanence.

COLLECTED NOT LOST is not a simple retrospective concept.
A rescue operation? No! A proactive archiving effort in which Autonomaton unearths a decade of sound fragments. From 2015 to 2025, Nikolay Stanchev scattered material far and wide—contributions, remixes, versions, and reconstructions across a constellation of international labels.
Following DRONE AND TEKNOIZ, the first volume that laid down its tectonic foundations, AMBIENT AND MELODY continues the process by gradually shifting the center of gravity. Abrasive textures dissolve, drones stretch out, and soundscapes hang suspended, revealing a skillfully more pronounced melodic dimension.
Dubbing and overdubbing, hardware and software, programming and live intervention blend in a layered approach. Partial erasure and superposition give rise to transient states. There is no chronological reconstruction here: the fragments of this decade are reassembled along an aesthetic trajectory.
With AMBIENT AND MELODY, Autonomaton enters a more fluid, hovering zone. This second chapter forms the central movement of COLLECTED NOT LOST: after the noise and before the rhythmic drive of dub breakz, it offers a music of suspension, depth, and lingering resonance.
